Dear Shingle Springs Residents and Rural Lifestyle Supporters,
This June Shingle Springs and the rest of Supervisor District 4 will be electing a new Supervisor. County Supervisors make decisions that directly impact our community, including deciding whether development projects are approved. This is a very important race for our community.
Last weekend, three of the four candidates gathered for a candidate forum in Georgetown. The remaining candidate, Ted Gaines, has declined all forum invitations while accepting tens of thousands of dollars in contributions from developers. We encourage everyone to review the candidates’ positions and backgrounds before casting your vote.
The video for the 4-18-26 candidate forum is available here (note that the sound gets better after the first 30 minutes): https://youtu.be/7pcQ7O1j_Lo?si=qM6X6SJT8XycHV_6
Additionally, another Candidate Forum is coming up on Thursday, 4-30-26, 6:00-7:30pm, at the Gold Trail Grange, 319 Hwy 49, Coloma, CA, hosted by the League of Women Voters.
We encourage you to research the candidates to prepare to vote on June 2.
