Action Alert - Newspaper Articles - Housing Element Comments

Post date: Apr 3, 2013 4:04:32 AM

Greetings Shingle Springs Residents and Supporters,

There have been several recent newspaper articles concerning El Dorado County government, and a Sacramento Bee article specifically on the San Stino project. We have gathered up many of the articles and posted links to them on this webpage for your convenience: http://www.shinglespringscommunityalliance.com/in-the-news.

Also, the Draft 2013 Housing Element has been published and there is a 60-day comment period for it. Complete details can be found on the General Plan Housing Element webpage: http://www.edcgov.us/Planning/General_Plan_Housing_Element.aspx.

Action Alert: We are looking for more volunteers to attend the Board meetings on Tuesday mornings to make public comment during the Open Forum at 9am. Simply go to the podium and let the Supervisors know that we want them to deny the San Stino application as stated in Attorney Ellinwood's letter, and that we want them to support us in removing the Shingle Springs Community Region Line so that Shingle Springs is no longer a target for high density development. Ask them what they are doing to keep Shingle Springs a peaceful community of homes and ranches on acreage. You can find the complete Board meeting calendar with agendas here: http://eldorado.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. Please note that there is no Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 16.
