Dear Shingle Springs Residents and Rural Lifestyle Supporters,
We have some good news to report! The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors just approved moving forward with the Community Design Standards for the downtown core area of Shingle Springs. As a reminder this project will create building design standards for new commercial, mixed use and multi-family residential buildings in the downtown core area of Shingle Springs. This does not impact single family homes or buildings outside of the downtown core area.
This is an important project because as residents we want to have a say in how newly constructed buildings look in our downtown core area.
For background here are results of our community engagement meetings held back in 2013 (this information will be used going forward):

Questions? Here are some answers that the County has provided on their Community Design Standards website:
AND HEADS UP: There will be a community meeting in the coming months during which County representatives will report on progress to date and solicit feedback from community members. Please plan to attend that important meeting! We will send a follow-up email once that meeting date is known.
