FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUPERVISOR SANTIAGO ENCOURAGES SHINGLE SPRINGS RESIDENTS TO CREATE THEIR COMMUNITY VISION AND PLAN

SHINGLE SPRINGS, California (April 26, 2013)

Members of the Shingle Springs Community Alliance, No San Stino, and Stop Tilden Park groups met with Supervisor Santiago on April 22, 2013. The group shared information about the following:

    • The proposed Tilden Park project

    • The proposed San Stino project

    • Our current effort to remove the Community Region Line (CRL) from Shingle Springs

    • Our current process of creating a Community Plan based on an updated version of the 1977 Shingle Springs Area Plan (a copy of the original 1977 Plan is attached for your reference).

Santiago is very supportive of our efforts to keep Shingle Springs rural. She said that the public process is being honored and it is important for our community to stay focused and define what we want for our entire area.

Our next step toward creating our Community Vision and Plan (the Plan includes the design guidelines for the commercial and multifamily areas) will take place at our upcoming Town Hall Meeting in May. The exact meeting time and place will be determined soon.

We encourage you to attend and help solidify the future of Shingle Springs. Your presence and input at this meeting are vital to 'Keep Shingle Springs Rural.' We must stand together to show the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors that Shingle Springs residents are serious about protecting our rural lifestyle.
