Important Shingle Springs Updates for 2019

Greetings Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters,

2018 has been a great year in Shingle Springs. Here’s a brief list of what’s been happening and what we can expect in 2019.

San Stino’s Mill Creek project:

The project application was withdrawn in September 2018. Thank you again to everyone who stayed involved in our effort to stop this high-density project in our rural community.

Tilden Park project:

The deadline for comments on the Notice of Preparation (NOP) of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was extended to January 31, 2019.

What: Second Open House for Tilden Park

When: January 17, 2019 5-7 pm

Where: 3901 Wild Chaparral Drive, Shingle Springs CA

Community Design Standards:

After several years of hard work by community members, the Board of Supervisors approved a contract with a consultant to develop design standards for commercial and multi-family development in Shingle Springs. Design standards will ensure that future development will complement our railroad-themed vision for Shingle Springs. We are excited to see this effort move forward.

Supervisor Elect:

We are proud to say that our very own Lori Parlin won a hard-fought campaign to become our next El Dorado County District IV Supervisor. She will join the other County Supervisors when she is sworn into office on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Board of Supervisors meeting room. Join us in congratulating Lori on her win. We look forward to her community-oriented approach to leadership.

SSCA Leadership Changes:

As Lori transitions into her new role as Supervisor, the SSCA leadership will reorganize to fill her shoes. Please continue to stay engaged to protect our rural lifestyle and quality of life. Email alerts and announcements will still be sent from this email address, info@shinglespringscommunityalliance.com, and the only difference is that it will be sent from and replied to by the SSCA Team.

We wish you and yours all the best in 2019!
