Green Valley Road traffic study workshop 10/24/13

Post date: Oct 21, 2013 3:36:24 AM

This is being forwarded from the Green Valley Alliance (GVA) because they have traffic and land use issues similar to Shingle Springs, including traffic safety along Green Valley Road.

Subject: GV Corridor Traffic Study, Public Workshop!!

Great news from the Green Valley Alliance-

County staff has scheduled the public workshop to gather input for the Green Valley Road corridor traffic study scope. If you wish to provide input before the study begins - especially if you signed the petition to help make this happen! - then attend this meeting:

Thursday, October 24, 2013

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Pleasant Grove Middle School Multi Purpose Rm, 2540 Green Valley Rd, Rescue; see attached flier forwarded from County staff.

ADDITIONALLY: If you have not seen the "Twelve Days of Wilson" on the GVA website, you need to! (https://sites.google.com/site/greenvalleyroadalliance/gallery) The staff report 'recommends this project for approval', so as obvious as a NO vote by our Board of Supervisors would seem, this is not a slam-dunk. Please look at this project, attend the hearing, and/or write to the supervisors, if you see the problems that we see.

COUNTY STAFF PROBLEM? Some members of county staff are having 'denial' issues. They do not seem able to 'deny' problematic projects, and they are in 'denial' over constraints of Measure Y that are intended to protect you and me as county residents. Link to Village Life article by Julie Samrick: http://www.villagelife.com/news/county-responds-to-measure-y-presentation/ . As of Monday, 10/14, county staff is still refusing to acknowledge the full import of the Caltrans letter dated 9/25 (presented 9/30) and are continuing to spread misinformation. We need to stop this. These are the people informing our Board of Supervisors on their votes.

If you do not understand the problem, please ask - do not allow the county or yourself to be 'run over', literally or figuratively.

Subject: 10/24/13 Green Valley Road Study Public Workshop

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors has recently launched a study to address current safety and traffic conditions along Green Valley Road and it's intersections from the El Dorado County line to Lotus Road. The El Dorado County Community Development Agency, Long Range Planning Division is holding an interactive workshop to begin a dialogue between members of the community and County staff to discuss the draft work plan prior to starting the study.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Pleasant Grove Middle School, located at 2540 Green Valley Road in the Rescue area.

Attached is a flyer, a map of the corridor and the draft work plan. Please feel free to post the information and/or distribute it to anyone who is interested in attending.

Community input is important to a successful plan, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts.
