Encouraging news from 10/22/13 Board Meeting

Dear Shingle Springs residents and supporters,

The Board of Supervisors unanimously denied the Wilson Estates rezone at the October 22nd meeting (Supervisor Santiago was absent due to illness). The Wilson Estates project was proposed on a 28-acre piece of land on the north side of Green Valley Road (near the Latter Day Saints Church) currently zoned for one-acre parcels. This is good news to communities all over El Dorado County as it was the first of many project applications that proposed to increase the density of the current zoning.

The community had sent emails, made phone calls, and packed the room to make sure their voices were heard by the Board. Members of the Shingle Springs Community Alliance also attended the meeting to show their support for preserving low density zoning in El Dorado County.

This is good news because it shows that when we come together as a community, we can make a difference. Let's keep this in mind as the county moves forward with the project applications for San Stino and Tilden Park. Your voice does matter and we appreciate you taking action when we send out Action Alerts.
