Sierra Foothills Tea Party Set to Hold EID Candidate Forum

WHAT: Candidates for open EID director seats to meet in a public forum

WHEN: Thursday, September 19, 2013

TIME: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 P.M.

LOCATION: 3300 Coach Lane, Suite A9 in Burke Junction in Cameron Park

WHO: Open to all

Many local agencies across the country have engaged in deficit spending policies and have accrued substantial debt. In El Dorado County, EID water and sewer rates are surging to pay for escalating spending and debt service. Left unaddressed, massive debt and unfunded liabilities will threaten the financial future of many cities and agencies.

The candidates for the two open director’s seats on the El Dorado Irrigation District board will speak about their concerns and solutions for EID and its ratepayers. Each candidate will have a minimum of five minutes to introduce themselves. Following the candidate introductions, audience members will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions regarding the most pressing issues that the district and ratepayers face such as development, debt, deficit spending, unfunded liabilities, board compensation packages and any other relevant issue the voters may wish to address.

All of the registered candidates for the open EID director seats for districts 2 and 4 have been invited to participate in an open forum that will address the issues and opportunities that EID and the ratepayers face. Candidates for District 2, Greg Prada and Richard Englefield, have confirmed their attendance. Candidate for District 4, Jake Flesher, has also confirmed his attendance. The election will be held on November 5, 2013.

All community members are invited to attend. This candidate forum is designed to enlighten the electorate as to who the individuals are that are running for office - and their views – so as to provide voters with information they can use to make an informed decision in November.

The meeting location is:

Burke Junction

3300 Coach Lane

Suite A9 (Behind Crepe Town)

Cameron Park, CA 95682
