Action Alert! Meeting about Traffic at 12/10/13 Board Meeting

Post date: Dec 8, 2013 5:18:31 PM

At the December 3rd meeting, Supervisor Briggs told staff that the big question the county needs answered is: Can any more housing subdivisions be approved in El Dorado County because Highway 50 is congested to Level of Service F? Click here to see video clip: http://youtu.be/_94f2jRNYks

The follow-up presentation by the Measure Y Committee on December 10th at 2:00pm regarding the future approval of new single-family subdivisions is important and we need as many people there as possible. It is #27 on the agenda and here is a link to the agenda: https://eldorado.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=A&ID=265471&GUID=AF44B412-0682-4F0E-B135-B8FCA9F31CE2

Subject: Comment on 12-10-13 BOS Agenda Item #27, File #13-1073, Measure Y and RCU Presentation

Dear Board of Supervisors,

I fully support the voter-enacted Measure Y that is intended to stop future housing developments from being approved if our roadways and highways are already congested. As the Measure Y Committee has pointed out to the county, Highway 50 is currently at Level of Service F, the county presently has 15,832 buildable residential lots, and, therefore, no more future single-family residential subdivision development projects can be approved until improvements are made to relieve the LOS F congestion on Highway 50.

Thank you,
