9/7/14 Measure O update and Turning in Purple Petition signatures

Post date: Sep 9, 2014 6:14:48 PM

Greetings Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters,

Tomorrow is the big day. It is the last day that we can turn in the signatures to qualify the Retain Zoning and Preserve Our Resources (Purple) petition. We have collected over 9,800 signatures and will turn those in to qualify the petition for the next statewide election.

If you would like to be there to turn in the signatures tomorrow, Monday, September 8th, please be in front of the Elections Office at 2850 Fairlane Court, in Placerville by 9am. We'll take our traditional group photo and then head inside to turn in the signatures.

Also, it is time to start raising funds and awareness for Measure O. It is going to take some grassroots fundraising to combat the big money that the Chamber of Commerce is spending against our measure and to get voters to understand the importance of our initiative. Please take a look at our promotional video and spread the word: http://youtu.be/8MyuJCb89xA

Have some fun and make your own video to let others know that we treasure our county and want to preserve it by voting Yes on Measure O. You can email us the link to your video and we'll post it on our website and Facebook for you, or go directly to our Facebook page and post it yourself: https://www.facebook.com/Yes.on.O.ElDorado

Campaign contributions can be made and sent to:

LVC-EDC (Local Voter Control in El Dorado County)

P.O. 1581

Shingle Springs, CA 95682

(If you contribute $100 or more, please provide your Occupation and Employer on the check for Fair Political Practices Commission reporting.)

Contributions are not tax-deductible.

Thank you for all your support to get these initiatives on the ballot and to keep El Dorado County rural.
