ACTION ALERT! Attend 5/13/14 Board Meeting - Board will decide whether to order Election Reports on the 1-2-3 petitions

Dear Shingle Springs residents and El Dorado County rural lifestyle supporters,

At Tuesday's Board meeting, the Board will consider whether or not to direct staff to prepare the reports that analyze each initiative that we are currently circulating for signatures. If the Board decides to order the reports now, it will eliminate some waiting periods in the initiative process and give us up to an extra 30 days to collect signatures on our 1-2-3 petitions. This is significant because on May 6th our petitioners committed to another 30 days of signature gathering. At this time we are approximately 2/3rds done gathering enough signatures to qualify for the November 2014 ballot.

At the last Board meeting on March 29th, several residents presented testimony about the fraud and deceit committed by the paid petitioners hired by Region Builders. Then Sue Taylor and I requested that the Board put our request for the Election Reports on the next agenda. Remember, the Board can only direct staff by making a motion on an agendized item. You can view the testimony at http://youtu.be/k1s_8GCCFZw and the request to the Board at http://youtu.be/Co9CRXQcCA4. We have since learned that Region Builders spent $80,000 to get their petition on the ballot.

Please take action and contact the Supervisors and/or attend the Board meeting on Tuesday, May 13th. At this time, all we know is that it will be in the morning with the Department Matters. The agenda will be posted by Friday and you can find it here: https://eldorado.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx

We need as many people as possible to contact the Supervisors and attend the meeting to demand that they direct staff to prepare the Election Reports, which will assist the public to overcome the situation created by the fraudulent petitioners.

Please attend, if you are available:
