Great work Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters!

Thank you to everyone that was able to make it to the Board of Supervisors meeting today and to those that couldn't be there but sent their support. It was very exciting and encouraging to see so many people speak on behalf of preserving rural living in Shingle Springs and in El Dorado County as a whole.

The four Supervisors in attendance (Supervisor Nutting was absent) voted to deny the contract with the developer for an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the proposed San Stino project. The denial gives the developer the opportunity to reconsider spending $318,000 on a report for a project that is not supported by the community. The full implications of the denial are still being explored and we will keep everyone advised as we find out more.

We appreciate everyone's efforts in coming together and speaking up for preserving our lifestyle, including the Board of Supervisors for truly listening to us today. When the video of the meeting is available online, we will send out a message so that people who could not attend today can watch the meeting.

Please continue to spread the word: ask your friends and neighbors to join our email list or Facebook pages so that they can be informed about future meetings and actions.

Thank you!
