FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PLAN FOR ACTION! COMMUNITY MEETING TO PLAN NEXT STEPS FOR SHINGLE SPRINGS

SHINGLE SPRINGS, California (November 11, 2013)
The Shingle Springs Community Alliance, No San Stino, and Stop Tilden Park organizations are holding a Community Meeting to present the progress that has been made and the roadblocks that have been encountered to preserving our lifestyle of a peaceful country community with ranches and homes on acreage.

  • Hear the latest about meetings held with the San Stino Development Team and a Revised Project Description.
  • Get up to speed on the status of the Tilden Park development proposal.
  • Listen to Community members discuss options for removing the Community Region Line, which allows for high denisty urban type development in our community.
  • Receive a progress report on the Shingle Springs Community Plan.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 6:30 to 8:00pm at Discovery Hills Church, 4270 Shingle Springs Drive, Shingle Springs, next to Buckeye Elementary School.  Please note that Discovery Hills Church is not affiliated with the sponsoring organizations.

For all newcomers and as a refresher for everyone, a short presentation will cover what we've done as a community to keep Shingle Springs rural.  The meeting will then shift gears to presenting information on options to take as we move forward.  Options include recall, initiative, referendum, litigation, and lobbying.  All are serious endeavors that need careful consideration and your input is vital.
