Action Alert! El Dorado County is under attack - We need you to sign our petitions and forward this email

Post date: Apr 7, 2014 5:21:18 AM

Dear Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters,

El Dorado County is under attack by special interests and out-of-county developers. Just last week a huge, Sacramento-based Developer political action committee (PAC) called Region Builders filed a misleading, pro-development initiative in El Dorado County. It goes by the misleading title of "Control Growth to Fix our Roads." To see who is behind this new initiative, click here: http://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/joshua-wood-is-the-smiling/content?oid=11110472 To see how back-door politics influences our elected officials, click here: http://youtu.be/XxD8IUbmdkU

We, the taxpaying citizens, need to take action now to ensure that our quality of life and resources are not hijacked by people that just want to make a buck at our expense. This is a county-wide issue, not just Shingle Springs.

If you chose to live in El Dorado County to get away from urban living, then we need your help. Please step up and take action now. We must have 10,000 signatures gathered by May 5th so that we can get our three grassroots initiatives on the November ballot. We NEED your help in accomplishing this.

For more information on our initiatives visit www.LVC-EDC.org

Here's what we need you to do:

Check the schedule below and be sure to stop by and sign our 1-2-3 petitions (green, yellow, purple). The schedule is constantly updated, so see the most recent calendar at www.LVC-EDC.org/where-to-sign

Forward this email to at least 10 friends that are El Dorado County residents and let them know how important it is to take action now

Contact us and we will get petitions to you to gather signatures. If everyone on this list took petitions to their own circle of friends and family, then we will make our goal. Contact Shelley Wiley to get petitions at (530) 306-2329 or info@LVC-EDC.org. Here are some ideas of where you can take petitions to gather signatures: your neighborhood, book clubs, church groups, sports teams, school events, yard sales, just anywhere that you see your friends and family.

Sign up to help at one of our scheduled locations. We can pair you with an experienced signature gatherer until you are comfortable. We have found that it is much easier to get signatures with a partner.

And we can always use people to hold up signs at our scheduled locations.

Now is the time to get involved and protect what is important to you. Uniting with community members throughout the county will empower us to take back control of our future in El Dorado County.

We can't let big, outside influence and money ruin our county's future. Be on the lookout for the developer initiative disguised as a "Rural" effort. Ask questions before you sign, and look for the volunteers with the three community-based initiatives. It's Easy As 1-2-3, green, yellow, purple!

Here is a link to the current schedule of locations and times to sign the petitions. Be sure to check the calendar often for updates, www.LVC-EDC.org/where-to-sign
