Dear Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters,

The communities of Rescue, Shingle Springs, Cameron Park, and El Dorado Hills will be severely impacted by the proposed expansion plan of Mather Airport transitioning into a premier cargo hub facility for the entire Pacific Rim Region. Refer to the April 11th article in the Mountain Democrat at http://www.mtdemocrat.com/news/mather-airport-expansion-moves-forward. The public has until May 8th to make comments on the Draft EIR by contacting both the Sacramento and El Dorado Board of Supervisors. An email template is provided for your use below:

Subject: DEIR Mather Airport Master Plan, Control No. 2002-0325

Dear Sacramento County Environmental Coordinator,

I am a resident of El Dorado County and am opposed to the proposed expansion of Mather airport and the noise that it will bring. I support the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors' request for the following:

• A return of cargo operations back to its origin, Sacramento International Airport, explaining, “Sacramento International Airport has the infrastructure to accommodate air cargo operations without an impact to neighboring communities.”

• Stopping the installation of the Mather Airport Category IIIb Instrument Landing System.

Thank you,
