Results of Dixon Ranch and CP Sign Ordinance

Dear Shingle Springs residents and rural lifestyle supporters,

This was a busy week and we have two updates for you:

1. Cameron Park Sign Standards - The meeting on 2/13/17 went well and the Cameron Park Design Review Committee (CPDRC) received good feedback on their draft. Let's stay engaged and supportive of their efforts to better understand the process and decide which parts of their Sign Ordinance we would like to adopt for Shingle Springs. Thank you to the CPDRC for keeping us in the loop on this project.

2. Dixon Ranch project - On 2/14/17, after a good discussion and meaningful public comments, District 1 Supervisor Hidahl, District 2 Supervisor Frentzen, and District 4 Supervisor Ranalli voted to have staff draft Findings to deny the project (District 3 Supervisor Veerkamp and District 5 Supervisor Novasel voted to approve the project). When the Findings to support denial are drafted, County Counsel will put them on the Consent Calendar for the Board to approve. Once the Findings are approved, the project is officially denied. Keep in mind that the developer may submit a revised version of the project or simply drop it all together.

This shows that by staying engaged in the process and holding our elected officials accountable for their actions, that we can get our voices heard to protect our quality of life. Supervisor Frentzen's statement said it well: Let's use our limited resources for economic development, not general plan amendments.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to the meetings or sent in emails. By working together and supporting each other, we are making a difference!
